I’ve been a little lax in updating results. In the last month or so the kids have shot several tournaments, with great results.
Lewis & Clark County
Howie shot very well and ended up taking the High Point for 3P and Prone and finishing 2nd in age group for standing. Bailey ended up with 1st place in age group for standing with a close second in 3P and 3rd in prone. Heath did very well ending up 2nd in age group for Prone, 3rd in standing, and 4th in 3p. Decker ended up 1st in age group for Prone, 3rd for age in 3P, and 3rd in age for Standing. Mackenzie came home with 3rd in age group for Prone and 4th in age group for Standing.
The younger shooters did well also with Brydon coming in 3rd for age in Prone with Conrad, Turner, and Liam shooting very well. Trizten, who is in an older age group this year did very well placing in the top 10 for his age group.
Flathead County
As expected everybody shot well the following weekend at Flathead. Howie came home with the High Point in Prone and Standing and 2nd for age group in 3P. Bailey followed closely behind Howie taking 1st place in 3P, 3rd place in age for Prone, and 3rd for age in Standing. Heath placed in all events for age group as well – 3rd in 3P, 2nd in Prone, and 4th in Standing. Decker did awesome coming away with all 1st place for age group in 3P, Prone, and Standing. Mackenzie also did fantastic with 2nd for age group in 3P and Standing. Maddy placed well in age group as well taking 3rd in Prone and 3rd in Standing.
All the 9-10 year olds placed in the top 5 for Prone with Brydon taking overall 2nd, Conrad in 5th, and Turner in 5th. Trizten, in 11-12 year old group, took 7th overall.
American Legion
We shot the American Legion 1st round postal target and after all the dust settled over 760 kids from all over the nation shot. Bailey is sitting in 6th overall in the nation of the eligible shooters and, unfortunately, will be the only one to receive a 2nd round target this year. If she does well on that target and places in the top 15 she will be invited to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs to shoot the end of July.
Upcoming Tournaments
We will be in Ronan this weekend shooting and next weekend will be in Belgrade to shoot both the NRA Sectional (3P and Standing) and the CMP Junior Olympic qualifier which may allow us to go to the CMP Nationals at Camp Perry OH this summer. 4H State is right around the corner as well where we will head to Bozeman on March 2nd.
